On 12th November 2020, Maria Alice Antunes (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) gave a talk on the experience of translating her article “The decision to self-translate, motivations and consequences: a study of the cases of João Ubaldo Ribeiro, André Brink and Ngugi wa Thiong’o“ (2013)" into Portuguese- She raises some interesting questions about the differences between academic and literary self-translation.
